Avengers: Infinity War - Likes/Dislikes, Pros/Cons (SPOILERS)

Avengers: Infinity War left me MIND. BLOWN. It is truly a phenomenal masterpiece and I could not be more excited about the upcoming MCU films, such as Ant-Man and the Wasp, Captain Marvel, and Avengers 4. Here's a list of things I loved about Infinity War, and things I didn't particularly enjoy (mainly for emotional reasons). Caution: there will be spoilers for the movie in this post, so read at your own risk!

POSITIVE THOUGHTS:

- Mantis is adorable.
- Teenage Groot deserves a thumbs-up for sacrificing himself to forge Stormbreaker. Don't worry, he only gives up his arm, and quickly grows back a new one.
- Thanos is a very interesting villain with an interesting motive.
- Scarlet Witch's powers come full circle and it is beautiful to watch.
- Thor calls Rocket a rabbit.
- Bruce Banner - not the Hulk, but Bruce Banner - is so fun.
- Stan Lee's cameo was great as always.
- "BOOM."
- Steve's reply to ''I am Groot."
- Rocket asks for Bucky's arm.
- Stormbreaker is awesome.
- That one scene with Scarlet Witch, Okoye, and Black Widow all fighting Proxima Midnight.
- The various character interactions are all fantastic and hilarious.
- That Red Skull cameo. After years of theorizing, we finally know the location of the soul stone, and it's in the hands of the Captain America: The First Avenger villain.
- That Captain Marvel tease in the post-credits scene. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE CAPTAIN MARVEL SOLO MOVIE.

NEGATIVE THOUGHTS:

- I would have liked to see more of Steve Rogers/Nomad. I felt like the poor guy got barely any screentime.
- Loki's sacrifice. He makes his exit quite early on in the film.
- Thanos killing Gamora to acquire the soul stone, and the fact that he was (painfully) shedding tears over it.
- The ending. I sobbed through that entire scene.
- There are multiple story lines to follow in this movie, so it can be a little overwhelming to keep up with them all, but the Russos perform and execute the task excellently. I guess this particular bulletin should be in the middle of negative and positive.
- The Infinity Gauntlet could have been removed from Thanos if it weren't for Star-Lord.
- Voldemort has a son, apparently, and his name is Ebony Maw.
- Peter Parker hugging Tony Stark broke my heart.
- Except for the beginning scene, Bruce Banner never fully transformed into the Hulk.
- Thor didn't go for the head.
- ''Thanos will return.''
- The fact that there was little to no audio playing during the iconic ''Marvel logo'' scene gave me the chills. I suppose it was a warning sign that Kevin Feige was not messing around with this one.

  1. Tip: Don't watch this movie without seeing the first 20 Marvel movies leading up to this. I went into this movie clueless and when everyone died I didn't really care.

    1. Yeah, things definitely won't add up if you don't watch the previous 10 years' worth of Marvel movies.
